About Our Weekly Courses
Chess4Kids offers qualified educational chess courses for children 4-15 years old. Our classes are taught by experienced chess coaches who introduce the children to the exciting world of chess through fun and play.
The cost of for one child is 660.00 CHF per semester (6 months). This includes one lesson per week in a small group with similar age and experience level of other children. Additionally the child can attend the specialised trainings on Wednesday from 6-7pm and the open play hours on Saturday from 2-4pm. All study materials are included. Siblings receive a 20% discount on tuition. Tuition needs to be paid before the beginning of each course session. If your child starts at a later time, the fee will be reduced accordingly.
A 50% penalty fee (330 CHF) will be charged for cancellations made up to 1 week prior to the start of classes. After this period, you are responsible for 100% of the tuition fee (660 CHF). Please make sure to notify the instructor 1 month prior to the last day of classes if you would like to extend your child's enrollment to the following semester.
Our class duration is 50 minutes. It is important to note that our course calendar corresponds with that of the local school system. There will be NO classes during the holidays. Instead we will provide Chess Camps and special training sessions for all those interested.
At the end of each semester the kids have the option to take a placement test, in which their chess improvement can be measured. The content of the test varies by the class level. There are 6 different testing levels, which the kids can gradually master. Having achieved a testing level, the children receive one of the following certificates:
Computer equipment and training
Chess boards, chess clocks, training materials, and books are available at no extra cost to all enrolled and active students. We also offer PC-exercise stations at the school which are set-up with various children's chess programs (perfect for children who would like to practice outside of the classroom).
